AMENDMENT TO ORDINANCE NO. 15. AN AMENDMENT TO AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING TRAFFIC AND PARKING REGULATIONS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THEIR VIOLATION. BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Washington, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and it is hereby ORDAINED and ENACTED by the authority of the same that Sections 4 and l2 of Ordinance No. l5 as enacted on November 5, l970 are hereby amended to read as follows: SECTION 4. H. Within fifty (50) feet of the nearest rail of a railroad grade crossing; I. Within any area reserved for use by firefighting, police or emergency vehicles or related equipment whether on private property, public roadways or in shopping centers. J. In any parking space marked and reserved for use by handicapped persons whether on private property, public roadways or shopping centers unless the vehicle displays a handicapped person registration plate as issued by the Pa. Department of Transportation or unless the vehicle displays a handicapped person placard as issued by the Pa. Department of Transportation. K. In such a way that snow removal crews are hampered in their activities. L. At any place where official signs prohibit parking. SECTION l2. Penalty for Violation. Any person who shall violate any of the provisions of this Ordinance for which a penalty has not been set, shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than Twenty-five ( $25.00) Dollars and costs of prosecution, and, in default of payment of such fine and costs, to be imprisoned in the County Jail for not more than thirty (30) days. Provided, however, that each owner or operator of a vehicle to which has been attached a notice that such vehicle has been parked in violation of the provisions of this Ordinance may, within seventy-two (72) hours of the time such notice of violation was attached to such vehicle, discharge and satisfy the penalty for such violation by paying the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars to the Township of Washington at the Washington Township Business Office during regular business hours or by mailing the sum of Five ($5.00) Dollars together with the notice of violation to the Township of Washington at the Washington Township Business Office at 954 Route 66, Apollo, PA, l5613. Each such owner or operator who fails to discharge and satisfy the penalty as above described within the seventy-two (72) hour period shall then be subject to the fine and penalty imposed by the Ordinance. The fines or payments of the penalty for violations of this Ordinance shall be deposited by the Township Treasurer into the Township General Fund.
