Washington Township employs a Public Works Director and five full time road crew operator/truck drivers who maintain 58.9 miles of Township roads year round. They are responsible for paving, pothole patching, seal coating, road shoulder maintenance, road side drains, cross pipes, road signs, vegetation control, mowing and snow removal on Township roads.

The Township Road Department also does winter maintenance on the following State Roads: Pine Run Road (SR 4067 and SR 4071), Washington Road (SR 4061), Crestview Drive (SR 4059), Gilmar Road (SR 4063), Beamer Lane (SR 4063), Kistler Drive (SR 4053), Camp Nancy Road (SR 4032), Crooks Road (SR 4061), and Reservoir Road (SR 4052). There are 14 miles of State roads  in Washington Township.  We have seen substantial improvement in the condition of Township roads in the past five years with 26.4 miles of roads being re-shaped and/or paved.

Washington Township owns the following equipment which helps our road crew perform their valuable services; three single-axle 33,000GVW trucks, two one-ton four-wheel-drive dump trucks, one ART loader, one backhoe loader, one motor grader, a brush chipper, and an 8-13 feet asphalt paver, Leeboy leaf-vac. This equipment allows our Road  Department to meet the many challenges of a diverse area like Washington Township.
