The Washington Township Parks Improvement Fundraising Committee is inviting Crafters, Local Retail Businesses, Community Organizations, Community Residents, Antique Dealers, and Demonstrators to participate in The FORT HAND FESTIVAL at Kunkle Park.

    The Fort Hand Festival will be held in Westmoreland County, Washington Township, approx. 4 miles south of Apollo. The festival will include crafters, food vendors, kickball & volleyball tournaments, carnival rides and more. Covered wagon and pony rides, train rides and other children’s games and activities will be available.  Entertainment will be provided all days with a variety of bands and more.

    Thank you for your vendor interest at the Fort Hand Festival. We appreciate your willingness and enthusiasm in joining us for an exciting three-day festival! Vendors and sponsors can go to www.washingtontownship.com for additional information.

Show Times Are As Follows:

Thursday - 5 pm till 10 pm

Friday - 5 pm till 10 pm

Saturday - 12 noon till 10 pm

We Will Provide a 12’ x 12’ Space for the three day event   

(More space needed for trailers can be negotiated)

Space price is for mandatory three days rain or shine

Farmer’s Market - $35 (no power available)

Crafters/Retail Businesses/Antique – Non-Power - $45.00

Crafters/Retail Business-With Power - $75.00

Food Vendors -Non-Power-$55.00 - With Power - $100.00

Non-Profits with or without electric - $25

The committee will try to prevent duplication of food items only.

Times:  Setup starting Wednesday noon till dark.

Fort Hand Festival 2008

Held at Kunkle Park in Washington Township September 18, 19 and 20, 2008

It’s time again for the 4th Annual Fort Hand Festival! The Fort Hand Festival is the largest community event held Washington Township. Last year our festival estimated over 10,000 attendees from all over the Alle­Kiski region with over 75 food, craft and demonstration booths. 

Our main objective is to provide a family and kid friendly atmosphere while raising funds to provide a better community park, with all the amenities. We would also like to promote the rich history that Fort Hand played in Westmoreland county. To do this we need your help! Please take this opportunity to be a sponsor for the Fort Hand Festival by helping to defray the cost of the festival and the entertainment we provide. Your donation, in addition to helping fund the festival, is also an opportunity to promote your business. For a donation of $500 or more your company name will be displayed on a banner at the festival. We would provide major signage and advertisement at the park and other locations to recognize your business or organization..

There are various sponsorship levels, including memorial/honorarium items that can be purchased with a dedicated donation.The demand for more amenities at the park, like pavilions and a walking trail, has increased over the years and we want to meet that need. So please consider our sponsor request, as your support will benefit our festival, our community, our businesses and the StrongLand region. We wish to express our sincere thanks to all who make Washington Township a great place to live!

The festival committee meets the fourth Monday of each month. Please feel free to attend and help make this the best festival ever!
